"All teachers make a footprint on student's life, some just make a deeper one than others." - Caitlin B.
When the cabinet announced the closing of several teacher's training colleges all over the country - not a moan was heard. But when the news of the demolition of a secondary school in the city broke, a nation-wide protest was heard and petitions signed. Even, I, a product of this particular school, dragged my children along with me to join in the farewell ceremony held at the school's compound one weekend.
Now reflecting on the past, I begin to ask myself these questions:
"What is happening here? Have we become mere robots in the concrete, materialistic world?"
Are we not proud of our profession anymore?
Has teaching year in and year out made us lose interest in the most noble profession?
Have we come to a point of looking at teaching as mere necessity and responsibility?
No one seems to care about the teaching profession. Not even the teachers themselves, the 'product' of these colleges, seem to care about closing down of these colleges.
It is not too late for us to change this attitude. This is not prevalent in out country alone but is a common phenomenon throughout the world. It is we teachers who must first change our attitude towards this profession. Only when we educate ourselves can we educate the public effectively.
So all teachers out there-be proud of who you are and what you do! We are the ones who have the power to shape the future.

SAYA PEMUDI ISLAM...
Saya pemudi Islam,
Dijaga dan dimulia,
Suci hati menjaga diri,
Saya pemudi Islam.
Dengan agama dan budi mulia,
Kesucian yang sejati,
Sifat-sifat yang murni,
Saya mencapai segala kemegahan.
Bercanggah dengan agama saya
Dan akhlak mulia,
Mendedahkan aurat dan bersolek
Atau berkelakuan tidak beradab.
Saya bangga dengan hijab,
Memakai pakaian yang labuh,
Bersopan dan beradab
Terasa nikmat dalam hidup.
Ikutan saya sepanjang masa
Pada diri umahatul Mukminin
Dan wanita-wanita solehah setiap ketika
Yang merentasi jalan kemenangan.
Dijaga dan dimulia,
Suci hati menjaga diri,
Saya pemudi Islam.

The Sports Car and The Qur'an 2
Continue...
Many years passed and the young man was very successful in bussiness. He had a beautiful home and a wonderful family. But realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since the graduation day. He plans to visit his father.
Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care things.
When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart...
He began to search his father's important papers and saw the still new Qur'an, just as he had left it years ago.
With tears, he opened the Qur'an and began to turn the pages.
As he read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope taped behind the Qur'an. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired.
On the tag was date of his graduation, and the words...
PAID IN FULL.
HOW MANY TIMES DO WE MISS ALLAH'S BLESSINGS BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT PACKAGED AS WE EXPECTED?
" But seek the forgiveness of Allah. For Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." (4 : 106)
Think about it dear friends!
May this story reminds you to Allah's blessing to us that sometimes we did not even notice it...

TIPS DIDIK ANAK 2
Mengelak dari membezakan anak-anak:
- Puji anak yg berjaya seadanya. Jgn lupakan anak yg lain. Puji mereka juga.
- Seimbangkan kasih sayang terhadap semua anak2. Setiap anak ada keistimewaan tersendiri.
- Bahagikan tanggungjawab secara seimbang kepada anak2 mengikut umur dan kemampuan.
- Belailah semua anak dgn seimbang. Jgn tertumpu kpd anak tertentu saja.

The Sports Car and The Qur'an 1
A young man was getting ready to graduate college.
For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.
As Graduation Day approached, the young man waited signs that his father had purchased the car.
Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study room. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.
Curious, but somewhat dissappointed, the young man opened the box...
and found a lovely, leather-bound Qur'an.
Angrily, he raised his voice at his father and said,
"With all your money you give me a Qur'an?"...
and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy book.
To be continue......
